Overview:
Daybreak Nightbreak is a sandbox-styled visual novel dating simulator, solo developed by me, Mr. Scribbly. The story follows a young man through his discovery of an alternate dimension mirroring his own, as well as the implications behind the actions of an ever-growing doomsday cult. Unbeknownst to the young man, he’s been infused with the ability to form his own group of worshippers, which may be the key to stopping the collapse of both realms.
In terms of a relative time period, the general public is in the modern age, with other relevant parties leaning more towards some sci-fi or even medieval technology and practices. The encroachment of several outside parties will drive varied points of conflict throughout the main story, as well as many of the side stories.
The narrative design of the game focuses on major decision making, choices with consequences, business/finance management, large-scale puzzle solving, relationship building, combat, and more. The current version has the entirely of the intro and first chapter completed, with the second chapter already in the works. The estimated playtime of the current version is well over 15 hours, with at least 10 major quests.
Daybreak Nightbreak’s writing and design structure is directly inspired by games like Yakuza and Mass Effect, aiming to provide a wealth of different activities along with a varied cast of characters to grow attached to, with a sexualized twist. The game is being designed to have a 3 Act Structure. Set-Up, Decision Making, Payoff. The introduction and first chapter have served to set up the second chapter, and the available decisions will be directly affected by the community’s input.

– Chapter 1’s Management Minigame got a new addition to make it more engaging, with an optional ability to follow market trends! As the days pass, the market trends will change, and you can “focus” stores to see improved profits. If you don’t want to micro manage this, the rest of the minigame is completely untouched from how it was originally.
– The start of a new side story featuring Eisheth, with her own Social Links (CAUTION: Big Lore Dumps Ahead!).

New Content:
– Due to the controversial nature of Tsumi’s Main Quest in Chapter 1, and a personal desire to make one “canon” version of events for the main plot, the Spectator has been entirely disabled. To compensate and help players “catch up” to the re-written version of her story, there will be an option to watch the entire revised version all in one go (which will be found in the Chapter 2 Computer, under Tsumi’s scenes). All previous lewds will be kept out of this in order to keep it as brief as possible, but the changes for any lewds will be available in the gallery.
– A few new Map Locations, as well as the introduction of the Delos (the neighboring town) worldspace!
– Some lessons from your SELF trainers, which will have impact on some of the new systems found in chapter 2! This patch includes:
– A self-defense lesson.
– Hearing some friends vent.
– A little bit of covert thievery.
– Establishing a connection with a neighbor.
– A new achievement, if you’re a natural scavenger.
– 4 Definitely Super Lewd interactions with your Captivations.
Quality of Life:
– Added a shortened introduction for people doing a repeat playthrough. This will get you through the game up until you have access to Chapter 1 in under a minute without missing any dialogue options.
Bug Fixes:
– Added the back image for some “Back” options that I missed.
– Fixed an error preventing one of Jasmine’s scene memories from completing.
Miscellaneous Changes:
– Adjusted Map UI to better fit multiple map changes.
– “Fitness” changed to “Finesse” in the SELF menu to better suit the general theme of its training.

– For those who took issue with the Spectator in Tsumi’s Chapter 1 mission, there is now a toggle (found when starting the game, or under the “Cheats” menu in your bedroom), which will completely disable it if set to OFF. Sometimes experiments don’t go the way you planned
– Supporter Wall, which will permanently house the names (and a quote if they want one) of the awesome people who are Lightworlder subs or above. This can be found under a new folder on the computer.
– Chapter 2 now has a World Map again (along with all of the improvements made in the Quality of Life section). Feel free to check-in on some nearby locations to see how everything is doing.
– A few events, with the return of some familiar characters.
– Re-Enabled the shop in Ch2, although you don’t have the money to purchase anything (yet).
– A life affecting choice.
Quality of Life:
– Removed the “Travel” option in most locations, being replaced by the “World Map” option (and others, such as “Kitchen” and “Store” when applicable).
– Added a return button to all maps, for those who may not be able to use the “back” function.
– Added a button to swap between worlds in Chapter 1 and 2, after unlocking the ability to travel between them on your own.
Bug Fixes:
– Fixed a bug preventing Sarah’s first scene being unlocked after the bar date if the karaoke date was completed more than once.
