Overview:
Tag along with Stephanie as she navigates the vicissitudes of high school graduation, prepping for college, and coming to terms with a new life finally free from the abuse of her school bully. Unless… her bully has other plans for her. Abnormal is a game that allows the player insight into the life of an intelligent high school tomboy given new freedom, as she faces self-doubt and fears amidst an uncertain future, blossoming desires, and confronting who she might really be.

This is my first game, begun as an experiment and learning exercise. It’s a simple sloooow burn old-school corruption VN with a focus on characterization over tricks of plot and gimmicks. I don’t claim to be original or dodge influences; I’m not a programmer or graphic artist, everything is new to me – so please forgive some of the unpolished or awkward or trite aspects of the game – I’m an amateur who’s learning. Hopefully you find something enjoyable in this exercise with me, and thank you for checking it out!

First of all, I love to tease and I love a good build-up, so things may not move as fast as some will prefer.

Yes, I know the animations are pretty bad – I only added them in because, well, I like learning how to do new things, and because I know most people like them. I may improve my skills there in the future; or not if I think they’re going to keep reducing the quality of the game. I apologize for my failures

Paths – there are a few, none of them as of now veer very far from the main story, but they add flavor and variation to Steph’s experiences (and yours). There will be one focused on lesbian, and one focused on het, achieved through a combination of alternate scenes, skipping scenes, and dialog variations. I intend to offer multiple choices during each path to go back and forth, but we’ll see if I succeed in that or not.

I will try to update as frequently as possible! I have a full-time job and plenty of other real-life responsibilities, so I only get to work on this during my rare downtime. Thank you so much for your patience! And thankyouthankyouthankyou for playing!
